Still Buzzing

During our last windstorm the top cover on the hive blew off. I found the girls completely exposed and all huddled together. I hope they were able to the protect the brood from the cold. I have no idea how long they were without their cover. Now I know I must keep a brick on top of the hive to protect them from our notorious wind gusts. They seem pretty active still and I am looking forward to the next calm, warm day I can open the hive again and check on them.
I wonder what it would be like to be a bee? Everyone working together for a common goal. Knowing exactly what's expected of you and what your job is. Working in flowers all day, flying. But I don't think I'd like it because if you went out to work one day and never came back no one at the hive would even notice.
I thought this quote from Bee movie was cute:
Barry B. Benson: How about a suicide pact?
Vanessa: How do we do it?
Barry B. Benson: I'll sting you, you step on me.
Vanessa: That just kills you twice.
It is nice to know that there is always something buzzing at Pura Vida. The bees make sure work is always being done.

I have often thought while reading your posts that your family is as busy as a bee hive!! And just as productive! I love that you have bees!
