The Blues Brothers

Meet the new additions to our managerie:
Jake
and Elwood

Arron and I drove to Moscow Saturday night, then took Lydia and the kids to Deer Park the next morning, where we picked up the boys. Here we are getting aquainted with them before the long trip home.
We put some goat milk on ice, this way we can slowly introduce them to formula. 6-8 weeks of bottle feeding, twice a day.
(nice ice bucket huh.)
Heres Elwood in the dog crate in back of Arron's truck. It's 400 long miles before we are home.
We stopped for a picnic in Pullman.
All the kids got to stretch their legs.
Jake, loved Lylian. She would say, "come on goats" and he would fall in right behind her, like they'd been friends forever.
This is Lylian before she fell in the creek...
(notice her bunny Pez and cookie)
...this is Lylian after. We were all impressed how her Pez and cookie never got dropped or wet. She was very calm, even though she was totally surprised by her water landing.
Skye is  far superior at bottle feeding.
Looks like he has found his true calling.
Out playing in the back yard before the rain comes. They're so fun to watch. They wag their tails when they're happy, jump and run like little deer, and they try to climb onto everything. They're quite mischievous!
So you may be asking "Why goats?" Well we have several acres of pasture at the Villa and these two ' blues brothers' will be great at keeping the weeds down. They will also get much bigger, Jake is Toggenberg and Elwood is Toggenberg and Boer mix, when these guys are full grown they will be able to pack a 1/4 of their weight. Thats about 50 lbs. each, 100 lbs. we won't have to pack on our hikes! I can't wait to take them to Seven Devils.
